Privacy Policy

Cosmic Truth (“we”, “our”, “us”) is committed to protecting your personal information. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights over it. By using Cosmic Truth you agree to the practices described here.

1. What we collect

When you use Cosmic Truth, we may collect the following:

Account information: Your name (first name only), email address, and password (stored as a secure hash — we never see your plaintext password).

Birth data: Date of birth, birth time (optional), and birth city/location (latitude, longitude, and timezone). This data is required to calculate your astrological chart.

Compatibility inputs: Names and birth details you enter for the people you check compatibility with. These are stored to power your reading history.

Chat messages: Your conversations with Nova (our AI astrologer) are stored to maintain conversation context and improve your experience.

Payment information: If you purchase a paid report or Pro subscription, payment processing is handled entirely by our third-party payment processor. We do not store your card details.
·
Usage data: Basic analytics such as pages visited and features used, collected anonymously to improve the product.

2. How we use your data

We use the information we collect solely to provide and improve Cosmic Truth:

  • ✓Calculate and display your birth chart (Sun, Moon, and Rising sign)
  • ✓Generate personalised compatibility readings and daily horoscopes
  • ✓Power your conversations with Nova — your birth data is part of her context
  • ✓Store your reading history so you can revisit results
  • ✓Process payments and manage your subscription
  • ✓Send transactional emails (account confirmation, receipts)
  • ✓Detect and prevent fraud or abuse
  • ✓Improve the product through anonymised usage patterns

We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising. Your birth details are yours.

3. Third-party services

Cosmic Truth is built on best-in-class infrastructure. The following third parties process data on our behalf under their own privacy policies:

Database and authentication. Your account data and birth chart are stored on Supabase servers.

AnthropicPrivacy policy ↗

Powers Nova, our AI astrologer. Your birth data and messages are sent to Anthropic's API to generate readings. Anthropic does not train on API data.

VercelPrivacy policy ↗

Hosts the Cosmic Truth application and handles web traffic.

Payment processor

Processes your payments for reports and Pro subscriptions. Card details are handled entirely by the processor and never reach our servers.

4. Data storage and security

Your data is stored on secure servers provided by Supabase. We use industry-standard encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. We apply access controls to limit who can see your data internally.

While we take security seriously, no system is perfectly secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at support@cosmictruth.app.

5. Your rights

Under applicable Indian law (including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023) and as a matter of basic fairness, you have the right to:

  • ·Access the personal data we hold about you
  • ·Correct inaccurate data (edit your profile at any time in Account settings)
  • ·Delete your account and all associated data — contact us and we will process it within 30 days
  • ·Withdraw consent for processing where consent is the basis
  • ·Lodge a complaint with the relevant data protection authority

6. Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal information within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain it (for example, payment records which may be retained for up to 7 years under Indian tax law).

7. Cookies

Cosmic Truth uses essential cookies only — specifically the session token required to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this will prevent you from staying logged in.

8. Children

Cosmic Truth is intended for users aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you by email or by displaying a notice in the app. The effective date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent version.
